Coffee Chats: Private Long-Term Care Insurance and WA Cares Act

Topic: The number of Americans ages 65 and older is projected to nearly double from 52 million in 2018 to 95 million by 2060, and the 65-and-older age group’s share of the total population will rise from 16 percent to 23 percent. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, someone turning 65 today has almost a 70% chance of needing some type of long-term care assistance, and 1 in 5 will need it for longer than 5 years. Currently, 66% of home care in the U.S. is provided solely by family members, with children and grandchildren providing the majority of this care.

Lockyer of Business Wise Insurance, PLLC - 28 years’ experience as a financial advisor with an emphasis in employee benefits, 401(k) and financial planning.  He is the principal with Business Wise Insurance.  He previously worked for AXA Advisors for 15 years training other advisors in financial services for business.  Long-term care (LTC) insurance is part of a successful retirement strategy.
• Elizabeth Quin of LTCI Partners - 21 years' of working in the insurance brokerage industry with a focus on marketing and selling LTC solutions. She has over 30 years in the financial services industry successfully helping clients and agents place LTC.
