Military Affairs Committee (MAC)
The Military Affairs Committee continues the decades of progress previous organizations have amassed providing strategic leadership in Snohomish County regarding its existing and prospective military assets in areas such as Congressional Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commissions, engagement and support of activity duty and veterans in our community, coordination with similar organizations in the region and other strategic initiatives.
The Economic Alliance Snohomish County Military Affairs Committee focuses on establishing and maintaining strong bonds between the military, and business & civilian sectors of Snohomish County communities. In doing so, it provides vital oversight for our State’s growing defense industry in the County.
Naval Station Everett (NSE) is one of the top ten largest employers in Snohomish County. The total economic annual impact of the military in the County is estimated by the Navy Region in its last economic assessment of NSE to be $340 million annually. NSE was built with potential capacity to accommodate multiple surface ships, plus additional U.S.Coast Guard assets.
Economic Alliance Snohomish County’s Military Affairs Committee (MAC) is the liaison within Snohomish County for initiatives that support military affairs. The committee sponsors strategic activities that range from local support for military personnel and their families to relationship building at the highest levels of Federal Congressional offices and the Pentagon.
