IonQ: The Future is Being Built in Snohomish County
12 Oct 2026
News
Our recent Familiarization Tour at IonQ in Bothell brought together elected officials and economic development partners from Economic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC), the City of Bothell, the Bothell Kenmore Chamber, Snohomish County, the Washington State Department of Commerce, and Senator Derek Stanford for a firsthand look at one of the region's most exciting growth stories. Following an engaging introduction to quantum computing from the IonQ team, attendees toured the company's advanced R&D and manufacturing facilities, gaining insight into a technology with the potential to transform industries for generations to come.
Earlier this year, IonQ announced its expansion in Bothell, a project supported in part by a Strategic Reserve Fund grant that EASC helped secure. The tour highlighted the innovation taking place in our region and the importance of continued collaboration between industry, community, and government partners to support emerging technologies.
We're excited to see the continued momentum behind IonQ's growth and the game-changing opportunities quantum innovation presents for our region, workforce, and economy.
