Snohomish County's education ecosystem feeds a skilled talent pipeline from kindergarten through advanced degrees — 15 public K–12 school districts serving more than 100,000 students, and 15-plus higher-education institutions including three community colleges, university campuses, and nationally recognized aerospace and advanced-manufacturing training centers.

Snohomish County is served by 15 public school districts, ranging from large suburban systems to small rural districts. The Edmonds and Everett districts are the largest, each enrolling more than 20,000 students. Many districts offer career and technical education (CTE), STEM pathways, and aerospace/manufacturing-aligned programs that connect students directly to the county's industry base.

STEM Pipeline
Snohomish STEM Network
Hosted by EASC, this is an initiative connecting K-12 schools, higher education, industry, and community partners to expand STEM learning and career-connected pathways across Snohomish County. Since 2018, the Network has been a leader in career-connected learning — helping partners secure more than $4 million in grants and delivering signature programs including STEM Like Me!, ECHO Tour, and Spring into STEM — and serves as the county's trusted convener of future-workforce and education initiatives.

Community colleges, university campuses & specialized training
Snohomish County hosts more than 15 higher-education institutions and programs, anchored by three community colleges and a growing set of four-year and graduate offerings delivered locally.

Everett Community College (EvCC)
Founded in 1941, the county's oldest community college. Offers transfer degrees, professional-technical programs, and workforce training — including aviation maintenance technology and advanced manufacturing. Adjacent to the WSU Everett / Everett University Center.

A public community college in Lynnwood (est. 1967) serving a large student body, with strong international enrollment. Home to the Washington Aerospace Training & Research (WATR) Center and host to the Central Washington University–Lynnwood branch for bachelor's completion.

The Everett University Center (at WSU Everett) provides local access to degrees from multiple universities. Central Washington University's Lynnwood branch, hosted at Edmonds College, offers bachelor's completion in fields such as IT administrative management, supply chain management, and business administration.

Western Washington University
WWU delivers degree programs within Snohomish County through the Everett University Center, extending access to the university's bachelor's and completion programs without students leaving the county. WWU's main campus in Bellingham lies about an hour north.

One of the nation's top public research universities, UW's Seattle campus sits roughly 30 miles south and is a major source of engineering, computer science, life-science, and business talent for the regional labor market — complementing UW Bothell's in-county campus. Specialized & Industry Training
Aerospace and advanced-manufacturing pipelines
The county's education assets include training centers built specifically around its industry base. The Washington Aerospace Training & Research (WATR) Center at Edmonds College and Everett Community College's Advanced Manufacturing and aviation-maintenance programs supply job-ready technicians to Boeing and the aerospace supply chain. These programs, alongside apprenticeships and employer-customized training, give companies a direct, local pipeline of skilled labor.

EvCC Advanced Manufacturing Training & Education Center (AMTEC)
Everett Community College's flagship 54,000-square-foot advanced-manufacturing training center, opened in 2014. AMTEC offers certificates and degrees in precision machining, mechatronics, engineering technology, composites, and welding & fabrication, with state-of-the-art labs, on-site employment facilitators, and registered apprenticeships delivered in partnership with AJAC. Its annual Manufacturing Day Tour — run with the Snohomish STEM Network — introduces 500+ county high-school students to manufacturing careers each year.
