18 Jul 2022
Everett, Wash. – This week, President and CEO of Economic Alliance Snohomish County, Garry Clark will head to England to lead a delegation from Snohomish County in a trade mission at the 2022 Farnborough International Airshow.
The Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) is a trade exhibition for the aerospace and defense industries. The show takes place every 2 years at the Farnborough Airfield, approximately 40 miles from London. The FIA is the second-largest show of its kind, behind the Paris Airshow.
In 2020, the live FIA was cancelled for the first time in its 72-year history because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now returning July 18-22, 2022, this year's FIA is boasted by organizers to be the largest and most internationally attended aerospace event to happen in three years.
Joining Garry Clark, to round out the Snohomish County Delegation to the FIA, are Stephanie Wright, Snohomish County Council Member, Chair of Economic Development Committee; Terry Ryan, Snohomish County Aerospace Economic Development Director; Arif Ghouse, Airport Director for Paine Field Snohomish County and Jason Petrait, Executive Director of the Center of Excellence for Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing.
While at the FIA, the delegation will attend scheduled meetings with exhibiting companies as part of their trade mission. Members of the delegation will also make a post-show trip to Sheffield, England where they will tour the local Boeing facility and the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Center.
