Restoration and Reopening of the Historic Weyerhaeuser Building
In March 2022, the Port of Everett signed a 10-year lease agreement with Weyerhaeuser Muse LLC, owned by Jack and Jin Ng of NGMA Group, to revitalize the historic Weyerhaeuser Building. The public/private partnership aimed to restore the iconic waterfront structure to its former 1920s glory and reopen it for the public as The Muse Whiskey & Coffee — a coffee house by day and speakeasy-style whiskey bar by night. Work to ready the space, including repair of all windows to historical standards, interior renovations, ADA enhancements, utility upgrades, modernization of restrooms, exterior landscaping, and tenant improvements by the NGMA Group to bring the space to life. The Muse will also serve as a museum, showcasing the rich history of the building via a virtual tour experience and serve as a new events and meeting space venue.
"We are thrilled that this partnership could breathe new life into the historic Weyerhaeuser Building and deliver a unique and thoughtful space for our community," Port of Everett CEO Lisa Lefeber said. "The Muse Whiskey & Coffee is a one-of-a-kind destination dining experience that celebrates Everett's rich history. We hope you enjoy the renovation as much as we do.”
