The event brought together elected officials to discuss the upcoming legislative session and important issues in the Snohomish County business community

Everett, WA., January 6, 2023 – Economic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC) brought together elected leaders Thursday for a 2023 Legislative Kick-Off. The event, presented by The Boeing Company, provided an opportunity for elected leaders to answer questions and discuss EASC’s 2023 Legislative Agenda.

“The Legislative Kick-Off gives us all a chance to begin each new year with a sharing of ideas, and to communicate our priorities so that our legislators can advocate effectively for our business community through understanding our strengths, as well as our challenges,” said Garry Clark, President & CEO, EASC.

The Legislative Kick-Off was held at the Hotel Indigo Seattle Everett Waterfront, an IHG Hotel, and was sponsored by The Boeing Company, Port of Everett, and Community Transit.

“One of the reasons for holding the Legislative Kick-Off is to provide a forum to advocate for policies that stimulate economic vitality and represent the diverse interests and goals of our businesses and communities here in Snohomish County,” said Rashma Agarwal, Director of Government Relations, EASC.

The event included a fireside chat with elected officials to discuss legislative priorities for 2023. The discussion was led by Agarwal and featured panelists including Senator Marko Liias, 21st District; Representative Carolyn Eslick, 39th District; Representative Sam Low, 39th District; and Representative Brandy Donaghy, 44th District.

EASC works with its Advocacy Board on an annual basis to create regional priorities used for our advocacy efforts in Olympia as well as federal priorities focusing on Congressional advocacy.
