First settled in 1884, the City now has a population of 3,900 people, with an estimated population of 11,000 in the immediate outlying area of the town. Granite Falls is the Gateway to the Mountain Loop, which is known for many outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, camping, sledding, among other activities.
