Created in 1959 as an independent special purpose district focused on the public health in Snohomish County, the Snohomish County Health District provides a wide range of services that promote public health, particularly focusing on preventing injury and disease, and protection from environmental threats. Originally established in 1960, Snohomish County Public Hospital District #1 (SCPHD #1) has grown with the community. In 2015, SCPHD #1 made the decision to affiliate with the EvergreenHealth system, expanding on services offered to the community.
