SnoCODE (Creating Opportunities Diversity Equity), a partnership between Economic Alliance Snohomish County, Leadership Snohomish County, Snohomish County Government and other non-profit and for-profit regional partners, is proud to present its first Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Forum.

DEI work is key to the sustainability of quality of life, workforce and talent retention, and attracting the industries needed to grow Snohomish County. Join us for an honest conversation about the state of DEI in Snohomish County facilitated by Guest Speaker Dr. Anu Taranath and take away action items to share and integrate into community and with the organizations you engage.

Dr. Anu Taranath brings both passion and expertise to her work as a speaker, facilitator and educator. As a UW Teaching Professor for the past 20 years and a racial equity consultant, Dr. Anu deepens conversations on diversity, social justice and global consciousness. She teaches about contemporary world and multi-ethnic literatures; colonial and postcolonial literatures and theory; and transnational feminist and cultural studies. A four-time member of Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau, she has also received the Seattle Weekly’s “Best of Seattle” recognition, the UW’s Distinguished Teaching Award, and multiple US Fulbright Fellowships to work abroad.

We will also hear "spotlight stories" from organizations & individuals in our communities on the work they are doing around equity and social justice.

For accessible ticket pricing: pay-what-you-can considerations, please contact RaechelM@EconomicAllianceSC.org for a promo code.

We want to hear from you!

SnoCODE (Creating Opportunities Diversity Equity) is looking to share stories of those in our communities dedicated to equity and social justice during our first Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Forum on December 6, 2022 at Edmonds College.

Do you know a local business that has improved and prioritized their workforce diversity and inclusion? What about a non-profit organization working to empower young people of color? Maybe an individual who is a frequent and outspoken proponent for diversity and inclusion in the workplace? Perhaps you know a teacher dedicated to inclusive learning and development? We want to hear your stories!

Please submit a brief "spotlight story" of an individual or organization you are familiar with that empowers DEI in Snohomish County. Examples include, but are not limited to:

• Business organizations
• Cultural organizations
• Education-based clubs
• For-profit organizations
• Local government departments
• Multi-organizational partnerships
• Non-profit organizations
• Public officials
• Religious organizations
• School/College clubs
• Youth-led organizations
• Other individuals/organizations who initiate, lead, support and/or engage with DEI initiatives

Submit "spotlight stories" here.
