Have a bachelor’s degree? Interested in becoming a substitute teacher? Let Everett Public Schools help you!

Requirements to be eligible: Bachelor’s Degree, COVID-19 proof of vaccination or exemption, 8 hour training STEDI class, fingerprints completed with OSPI prior to start date.

Step 1. Apply at Everett Public Schools Website: Emergency Substitute Teacher (2021-22) (has not held a teaching certificate)

Step 2. Be interviewed by our Human Resources team

Step 3. Applicant creates account with OSPI

Step 4. Our substitute services team will send an emergency certification application (usually takes 24 – 48 hours to process in order to see applicant)

Step 5. Get 8-hour STEDI training with an 85 or higher to pass. Note: The initial cost for this class is $40.00, which will be reimbursed once the applicant has completed 10 substitute assignments

Step 6. Attend Sub orientation
