June 29, 2022 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Access to affordable, quality child care allows parents to work, prepares our future workforce for success, and helps grow business. Yet Washington businesses lost over $6.5 billion annually in direct and opportunity costs due to employee child care issues. Child care is not just a family issue, it is a community, business, and workforce issue.

Employers can strengthen their business by  supporting the child care needs of their employees. Family-friendly policies and employer-supported child care are powerful tools to foster employee loyalty, improve retention, attract top talent, and enable employees to be more engaged in their work.

Join us on June 29 from 10-12pm to learn about the varied ways businesses of all sizes can support the child care needs of their working parents.

During this workshop, you will learn about:

  • The positive impact of employer-supported child care and family-friendly policies
  • Tangible ways that businesses can support working parents
  • The experiences of Washington business leaders with family-friendly policies
  • The technical assistance supports that state agencies can offer to employers

We will also facilitate small group discussions to learn more about the support and assistance you would need in order to implement family-friendly policies.
